A heating mantle spare element consists of:
- Nichrome resistant wire coil – The main heating component. When electricity passes through it, it produces heat
- Fiberglass or ceramic insulation – surrounds the wire coil and distributes heat evenly while preventing heat loss and electrical hazards.
- Woven/Frabric outer heating pad – Flexible, bowl shaped layer that sits inside the mantle and supports the round Bottom Flask.
- Electrical lead/wires – connects the heating element to the controller or power supply.
